USB-RS485-B-Serial Interface

The USB-RS485-B module provides an easy to use RS485 interface by means of a Virtual Com Port on the users system. There are no command structures, whatever is sent to the Virtual Comm Port is automatically converted to RS485 and vice versa. The module is completely self powered from the USB bus.

Overview
The USB-RS485 is a complete, self powered, USB to RS485 interface working at any baud rate up to 250k baud. Main features are:
- automatic bus turn-around - any time your not transmitting the module is listening.
- Uses the ST485 quarter power tranceiver, so you can have up to 128 devices on the bus.
- USB interface uses the Silicon Concepts CP2102 chip which has drivers available for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Android.
- The USB-RS485 can also be used to generate a DMX stream, see examples on product page for more info
- Onboard 5v regulator can supply up to 1A peak, 300mA continuously to external circuitry.
Test Program
To get the USB-RS485-B up and running in the minimum amount of time the manufacturer has put together a RelayTestprogram to demonstrate the functionality of the module.
